Re: Karting 3rd Feb Team Karting Preston

Great fun today everyone, I had some brilliant battles in the race, and the narrow spread of lap times across the group was pretty impressive. Thanks to Andy for organising. For those who mentioned trackdays, I've made a thread for everyone to post dates on: http://www.norlog.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t...

Re: Karting 3rd Feb Team Karting Preston

I’d missed the payment details in the first post, I’ve just sent mine via PayPal. Kind of wishing I hadn’t spent all day wiring stuff into the Elise now, your body’s meant to be ruined after karting, not before!

Highland Fling Long Weekend

I took the Elise up to Scotland for a long weekend run with my other half and a group of friends. Great company, incredible scenery and some fantastic roads in an eclectic group of cars: My Elise, 308 GTS, Tuscan S, M3, another M3, R8, Leon Cupra K1, A45 AMG, SLK. The car was a riot, as usual! Casua...

Re: Time for the bi-annual wash

Seriously Lotus. They're Team Dynamics Pro Forged Superlights, the current Elise Cup wheels without “LOTUS” stamped in the rim and about half the price. They're hilariously light.

Time for the bi-annual wash

I put new wheels on the car and they looked too clean against six months of filth and rubber, so I was forced to give it a wash today. https://preview.ibb.co/iEpmic/DSCF0005_7.jpg https://preview.ibb.co/fBwXOc/DSCF0008_5.jpg https://preview.ibb.co/dHRMGx/DSCF0006_6.jpg https://preview.ibb.co/ei4rGx/...

I’m not sure that counts as a tick on the checklist  I’m glad I’m not the only one who wants to try all the engine configurations.

Re: Did anyone get any ‘Lotus’ time this weekend??

Hi Dave, I met that bunch of guys we did that "run" to Hassop with last year. Bumped into Jaik which was good for a quick catch up but then proceeded on a short run (up the motorway yawn) to a Cars & Coffee type meeting at Trafford Park. I didn't actually realise this until I got there, really not ...

Re: The Slowtus - K20 SC 135R

I did an MSV/Evo “How Fast?” day today at Bedford Autodrome with a couple of friends. We used the West circuit and with a small number of cars had an hour of open pit lane, followed by two flying hot laps each to set a time for their leaderboards. It's the first time I've been to Bedford and the sec...

Re: The Slowtus - K20 SC 135R

Get a good group of friends together and there's nothing like it. Stunning scenery, great food, spectacular roads… Wonderful. I think I've done 8 tours over the past 9 years!

Just don't go with a friend in a 4C if you enjoy your car getting attention

Re: The Slowtus - K20 SC 135R

I took the car for a week in the Alps and the Dolomites with a few friends (I'll post more about that soon) and had a couple of minor bits to fix when I got home. I gained a few minor rattles which I'm looked to solve, and one big one. Toward the end of the trip the driver's door started rattling, n...

Re: The Slowtus - K20 SC 135R

I had a chance to take The Slowtus out for a drive today with an old friend in a 458 Spider. Today was a good day. Given the hot weather, it also served as a nice shakedown before I head off to Italy in a week or so. Everything is tip top! http://i.imgur.com/80M0ZJE.jpg http://i.imgur.com/E777GY4.jp...

Re: The Slowtus - K20 SC 135R

I've only done one minor job on the car in the past few weeks, which was to spray PTFE onto various bits of the gearstick mechanism/linkage as it was a bit creaky, squeaky and stiff in places. They're known for being a weak part of the package in terms of precision and feel, but just getting things ...

Re: The Slowtus - K20 SC 135R

While I umm and ahh about new seats and harnesses, I've spent £3.66 on a new reflector to replace the one my exhaust melted. I've also ordered a pair of centre caps to replace my missing ones. http://i.imgur.com/7NosfL9.jpg http://i.imgur.com/SeG07cO.jpg I also gave the garage a clear out, so there'...

Re: The Slowtus - K20 SC 135R

I was at Demon Tweeks today buying some gloves for my first sprint event in a few weeks (different car which I should probably create a thread about) and tried out a few potential seats for the Lotus while I was there. This turned out to be something of a mistake, as I now have to fiddle the maths s...

Re: The Slowtus - K20 SC 135R

Blyton is a good circuit, has plenty of nice safe run off on most of the track, and is usually very affordable. Oulton Park is a more challenging and fun circuit in my opinion. Having elevation changes makes it quite different to the flat converted airfield locations like Blyton. It also has better ...

Re: New car, K20 SC 135R

It's quicker than I am, for sure. Lots of learning needed! And agreed on the supercharger whine, it's addictive.

It's running R888s and 340R geo, so it holds on well. The spin in the video was partly down to me trying to go at "warm tyre speed" on cold tyres. And partly just bad driving :driving:
