New Lotus Badge

One word: Yuck. This new badge destroys the heritage of Lotus in my opinion. All previous badges/logos said something about the company; perceived Quality. OK so I know there used to be a problem ages ago. However, the original logo probably helped me to buy my first Elan back in '73 from Sports Mot...

Re: 2BULAR fitted

Add Ons.jpg Got the 'add ons' Thursday from Jim at 2Bular. Note: They are not road legal so had to fit them in the track pits. Make sure you Copperslip the M6 clamping stainless steel screws threads first or they may seize onto the nuts like mine did. They are a work of art. Wife wanted them on the...

Re: 2BULAR fitted

Jim's sending me the track friendly 'add ons' for my 2bular as he calls them to enable the car to pass noise testing at Oulton. Some tracks, including Brands Hatch, have been reduce 95 dBa from 102. Carbon tips are removed and the 'add ons' clamped over the exhaust pipes.

Re: 2ubuar - early Xmas present

Hi Jason
I suppose you could fit a 2bular system like mine with an electric solenoid instead of the vacuum flap valve. To operate the 'sport' mode you simply press a button on the dash and the loud pipe opens up. Press again and the flap closes. Have a chat with Jim Valentine at 2ublar.

Re: 2ubuar - early Xmas present

System arrived on Monday at 3:15 in a huge box. The product, wrapped in a mile of bubble wrap is all stainless steel unlike the original system. Had it fitted by 4:30. Sounds and looks fantastic with the 100 mm dia carbon tips. Video sound just does not give it justice. Better listening to the Bulli...

Re: 2ubuar - early Xmas present

Yes, you are correct. Jim is a sole trader literally. I was promised the system 3 weeks ago, given 2 shipping dates that didn't happen. Then it all went quiet. Couldn't raise him on the phone or by e-mail for 2 or 3 days. Thought he had gone bust. Seems he was in the Midlands at his supplier. Full o...

2ubuar - early Xmas present

I've had the Essex Evora S now for 31/2 years! Its still pristine with 16k on the clock. Can't believe it. How time flies when you are enjoying yourself! The value of the car has dropped so much since I bought it and discovered I needed another mortgage to purchase a 400 or above. I asked myself aft...

New Lotus Comic Book

I had gone to Robin Hood airport near Doncaster the other day to collect family members returning from Poland. The place, unlike Manchester airport on a quiet day it was virtually empty. There was a small WH Smiths shop so I went browsing the mags. To my amazement I came across the 1st edition of Ab...

A bit late in the day I know but Olli changed my old 111R throttle pedal to resolve the problem. Tracks inside the old one were knackered.

Re: Brake caliper painting

I've had 2 Elises over the years and one thing that lets them down is that the brake calipers are left unpainted. I presume your vehicle is similar. With modern alloy wheels there is plenty of 'spaces' to view the calipers. I even suggested this to Lotus in one of their questionnaires some years ago...

Oulton Park Track Day Tuesday 5th December

I've booked on this one if anyone else is going? Think its the last car event of the year. Only my second one this year due to various non car issues including the weather! I need to use up some of my 'free' track day insurance cover courtesy of Henderson Taylor Insurance.

Re: After 3 months I'm back in a Lotus :)

Chris Think you will like the Evora. I've had mine for nearly 3 years now and traveled 11k in her. Never the slightest problem with the exception of a sticking boot lid. I've fitted stick on Rim Guards to the wheels as the rims get easily damaged in pot holes or by kerbing, a problem I never seemed ...

Re: Spare Garage Space ?

Xav I've now got the garage built but unfortunately I had to reduce the width by 450 mm due to foundation being my side of the boundary and brickwork necessary to meet with building regulations etc. It would be a very tight squeeze to get both cars in side by side. Biggest problem would be opening t...

Re: Well here she is

Looks likes an Essex Blue S? Looks great like the reg. Only 3 made. I've still got one of 'em. We need to get some pics of them together? What colour are your alloys? My consumption figures even driven carefully are about 22.0 MPG. On track best I've had is 9.8 MPG. I've done over 10k now since new....
