Thanks to StephenM @ SVR, Olly @ Phoenix + Gaz @ Spitfire

Well, I made a standard error and got a bit too well acquainted with a verge

I like to tinker with the car myself so replaced the toe link I bent with a set of Spitfire toelinks. The service from Gaz was brilliant - I am very picky about car bits and he has been very accommodating. The toe links are lovely bits of kit!

I then took the car to Olly at Phoenix for a geo and check over to make sure I hadn't done any serious damage (none fortunately), just a couple of ball joints replaced and geo needed. Dropped off on Sat, all done by Monday afternoon - great service and advice. Car now drives great.

StephenM from SVR then picked the car up from Olly and set about sorting the damage to the rear clam (on the verge there was one of those soft ground poles :() He kept me well updated throughout and the job is fantastic - perfect colour match - you just wouldn't know it had been repaired. He has an OCD level eye for detail so also sorted out some other imperfections he found from a previous respray. He then went out of his way at the weekend, driving the car down to Chester for me to collect - great service!

So, just thought I'd put up my experience of our brilliant local garages/suppliers :D

Now I've got it back, I'm going to tuck it up in the garage until Spring!

Cheers

Chris, I seen your picture on the S1 FB page.

I never realised you were local(ish)

I want my hardtop respraying with some S160 spacerblocks too. SVR noted!

Got to agree with your comments on Olly and StephenM unfortunately mines back with Stephen 18 months after he last resprayed the nose, sides and other bits. This time it looks like a new calm as I had a minor coming together with a stationary object. But I know what you mean about his attention to detail, mine ad additional bits sorted last time :chair:

@ Mark - yeah I'm just South of Manc. Hoping to get so some Norlog meets/runs soon! I'm sure Stephen would do a great job of your hardtop. I think he has an S1 111s in titanium of his own.

@cdc02 those stationary objects are a right :Censored: ! hope it's not too bad!

It doesn't look too bad in photos but I've managed to bugger the joint seam where they join the front the clamp mouldings in the mold itself. So new clam time

Mine in for respray now as am sick of the poor paintwork throughout. Stephen M painted previously - paint cracking all over, v v bad colour match etc. Wouldn't recommend.

Is the location of SVR the most closely kept secret on Earth?

Even the CIA are wondering where Stephen hides!

I'm just wanting to pop in to talk about my S1
