Re: Elise - retirement project
spent 3 full days fettling the rear clam, it's getting there, but was way out, fit-wise:
these show how the clams are quite a bit wider than the standard S1 Exige clam.
and one from the front... a lot more work needed on them yet.

Re: Elise - retirement project
Looks like it is coming along.
I have seen a converted one before and the front of the door caught the wider from wing every time it opened, how have got around that?? Will you have to put spacers on the wheels to fill the arches??

Re: Elise - retirement project
Cheers Dave,
I've had the front clam and sill covers bolted down and doesn't seem to be a problem with the doors catching, although it's close.
Hoping to not use spacers on wheels but probably means getting wheels made to specific offset... expensive but ok with me... this is my last build, so needs to be a good one.

Brill! I’d forgotten all about your project report here on Norlog when I posted on exiges.com asking for pictures and report!
I’m definitely losing the plot.

I'm going back to the guy in St. Helens who painted my Elan, as he did a cracking job with that.

Re: Elise - retirement project
quick update,
engine build has been long, but added to my wanting extra things doing, LSD fitted to gearbox, engine loom and ECU organising, exhaust manifold, wastegate and turbo currently being zircotec coated before assembly.
Hoping to get completed engine, with gearbox, turbo, loom and oilways fitted later in October and then it's all systems go then.

will post some of engine being installed when I get it back

I’m drooling over all those shiny bits. Did you paint the wishbones gold if so what did you use, my next job is stripping down front suspension.
I hope those driveshafts are not on the kitchen table i got skinned just for having my diffuser in the living room
