no, wishbones and uprights were chemically cleaned and then plated with yellow zinc passivate, then given two coats of clear PIR-15 for extra protection.

My Mrs is very good in relation to car parts turning up in the house, they are all over the place! - I just try to keep them out of her way.

Getting engine back from builder at weekend, so will post some updates of that going in.

ok, got the engine back from builder (JNL Racing) - great job I'm really pleased with it.

exhaust manifold, turbo and wastegate are on the bench going for zircotec coating before fitting to engine.

took four blokes to lift into the back of my car.
if you look past the engine, further into the car, you may see a new Elise windscreen that I picked up over the weekend too - made for some 'Miss Daisy' style smooth driving coming home!

time for first trial fit over the next week.

 , breaking a screen before even fitting it would have been unusual ;)

What's the expected time to finish now you have the engine back? When does it go to paint?

waiting for the loud 'crack' noise was in my mind most of the way home! - I did have some cardboard and a cushion separating the two!! - some protection eh?

paint will be final job, so new windscreen in, engine installation over the winter, (I don't work fast), hopefully once wired up, running and mapped etc. - seats in - then going for paint in spring next year, I've got my paint man lined up ready. Completion summer 2019

all running mechanicals are finished - but still needs some engine plumbing, electrics and exhaust system to be completed, but painted panels will be stored indoors until this is all done.

No worries mate, it's running now so the pressure is off. Yours is coming along a treat do you have a target date to get it finished.

No, I suppose I'd like it all finished for this time next year, so I can use it throughout the summer. There's still lots to do though and I'm slow!
