Hi from Huddersfield! Esprit S2 question...

Hi All,

Great to be on here! I've fallen in love with an Esprit S2 and I drove 400miles round trip to see what I was told was a 9/10 car and from 50/50 (50 paces/50mph) it looks it but upon closer inspection the seller has made it shiny and covered over lots of small issues with it that will add up to some big problems/costs.

I know that some of you may say "get a S3. They are a better car..." and I know that, but I still want a S2 (sorry!) I love the retro looks.

I have a question, there is another car available that I'm going to look at but could I get any comments on here on thoughts? I have read many, many sites on S2 buying guidance and spoken to my local Lotus specialist (Chris Fould) but some of you may have even come across these cars before?

You may even be aware of other Esprit S2's available for sale?

Firstly welcome to the forum

Really shocking what you said about the first advert after reading the description, shame on the seller!

The second advert does sound very honest and he sounds like an enthusiast
Like all cars though go with your eyes wide open and you roll the dice

I echo mill's comments above, have a good look at them and if possible take a trained eye with you. You could try Club Lotus which I think is more of the classic Lotus models http://www.clublotus.co.uk/

Thanks for the comments guys. I really fell in love with the 1st car and went there with a deposit but was shocked with the car and the way I was treated, but hey-ho. It wasn't meant to be!
